Twingo lovers, assemble! Renault UK has confirmed that its new baby EV will be priced from less than £20,000, and launched the Twingo R Pass programme to allow buyers to jump the ordering queue.
New teaser images of the final production car – which we've brightened to show even more of the details – show that Renault has kept faithful to the concept car that preceded it. It would seem as though the changes have been kept to more conventional bonnet vents and smaller wheels.
Ahead of the newcomer's official debut on November 6, Renault UK has reiterated its promise to keep the starting price "below £20,000" and launched its queue-jumping programme.

While R-Pass programmes for the Renault 4 and 5 were priced at £150, the Twingo R-Pass comes in at £100. For this, customers get early access to the ordering process, plus priority production and delivery. Also, R-Pass holders get a diecast model of the Twingo, a key cover painted in concept car's vivid green colour, and "direct contact with a dedicated concierge service". The R-Pass is open from October 15.
The original Twingo of the 1990s was never offered in right-hand drive, and, for a time, it was believed Renault would again exclude Brits from the new electric reincarnation. However, earlier this year, bosses confirmed that the new retro EV would cross the channel and be offered in right-hand drive. It's set to be one of the UK's cheapest EVs when it goes on sale.
