Hyundai has announced pricing and specification of the IONIQ 6 First Edition, the first model in the brand’s new IONIQ 6 range. Positioned above the current IONIQ 5, the new saloon will initially come with a £54,995 price tag. 

Like the IONIQ 5 - which was offered in Project 45 trim only – the 6 will be available in a feature-packed limited edition form, with standard models, badged Premium and Ultimate, set to follow shortly after. 

The IONIQ 6 First Edition features a 77.4kWh battery with all-wheel drive powertrain to provide 320bhp of power and 605 Nm of torque. Thanks to its streamliner-inspired exterior design (which has a drag coefficient of just 0.21), the IONIQ 6 delivers a WLTP range figure of 320 miles.  

Based on the same underpinnings as the IONIQ 5, the 6 comes with an identical 800v charging system with the ability to charge at speeds of up to 230kW. The 6 is also equipped with a battery heating system, that has been designed to deliver optimised charge times in all conditions. As with the IONIQ 5, customers will be able to enjoy a free one-year subscription to IONITY Premium package, through Hyundai’s Charge myHyundai programme.

IONIQ 6 will be offered initially in First Edition form with cheaper Premium and Ultimate versions to follow

In terms of equipment, the IONIQ 6 First Edition features matt black 20-inch wheels, gloss black mouldings on the front, rear and side as well as gloss black mirror caps. Inside, the First Edition comes with a black interior with a black headliner, while the standard relaxation seats incorporate Grey Tartan fabric inspired by Hyundai’s Prophecy EV concept. The model is also equipped with dedicated First Edition floor mats with Grey Tartan highlights.

IONIQ 6 continues Hyundai’s drive towards greater sustainability. Eco-process leather and recycled PET fabrics are used in the seats, bio-TPO skin features on dashboard finishes while bio-PET fabric is used in the headliner. Finally, the floor mats made from ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn that can be used to make sustainable products.

Customers can choose from four exterior body colours: Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Grey Metallic and Gravity Gold Matte. The IONIQ 6 is also the first Hyundai model to introduce the new design of the ‘H’ emblem, finished in black aluminium on the First Edition.
