Kia EV2 spied testing

We’re out in Korea filming some exciting new videos, at the moment. While we can’t tell you about that just yet, we did spot a new Kia EV2 out testing around the factory in Korea.

Unfortunately it was fully disguised, but you can see from its dinky dimensions that this is Kia's new small, electric hatchback - here to take on the Renault 5, Citroen e-C3, Hyundai Inster, Fiat Grande Panda, BYD Dolphin Surf and more.

We saw the Kia EV2 concept car earlier this year, and you can watch Ginny's walkaround video for the full rundown on what to expect. Safe to say that this sighting out in Korea suggests that testing is in full swing before the EV2 goes on sale early in 2026. It will sit beneath the Kia EV3, of course, and given that it's out to steal sales from the Renault 5 we're expecting a range of around 200- to 250 miles. Pricing is also yet to be confirmed, but it needs to be in the £25,000 - £30,000 price bracket to compete in this class.

We're just happy that there are now so many great options in the more affordable, small EV class, but if the EV2 can bring some of the intriguing practicality and style aspects of the concept (portable speakers and BMW i3-style rear-hinged doors, please...) then this promises to be a really compelling option. We'll have to wait and see!
