Kia has opened order books for the new EV4 hatchback, with pricing starting from £34,695 and deliveries commencing in the autumn.

Just like with Kia's other electric models, the EV4 comes in Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S flavours, with only the entry-level Air coming with a choice of battery sizes.

Air, with a 58.3kWh battery pack, is priced at £34,695 and gets LED headlights, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 5.3-inch climate control touchscreen. The larger 81.4kWh battery pack comes with a £3,000 premium.

Sporty-looking GT-Line, at £39,395, adds 19-inch alloy wheels, two-tone artificial leather upholstery, a wireless smartphone charger, customisable ambient lighting, and a digital key.

Topping the range, the £43,895 GT-Line S gets a tilt/slide sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats with a 'premium relaxation' function, heated outer rear seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display and extra safety equipment, along with Vehicle-to-Load, and the option to add a heat pump for £900. The GT-Line and GT-Line S only come with the larger battery pack, which gives a claimed 362 miles of range, while the Air can travel up to 273 miles with the 58.3kWh pack or 388 miles with the larger pack – the latter being longest driving range of any Kia EV produced to-date.

When Kia pulled the covers off the EV4 in February, it revealed hatchback and saloon variants. However, at this stage, it's unclear if the saloon will be coming to the UK.
