The new Mazda CX-6e has been revealed at the 2026 Brussels motor show. This mid-sized electric SUV gets a 78kWh LFP battery, which is good for a WLTP range of up to 300 miles.
It's a rival for cars like the Kia EV3, Renault Scenic, Ford Explorer and Skoda Elroq, and although it's actually based on the Changan Deepal S07, the reveal of this car shows that Mazda has done a fantastic job of restyling and tweaking the CX-6e so that it now looks very... well, not like a Deepal S07.

In fact, the very purple Mazda CX-6e show car that was revealed today has sleek looks and surfacing that Mazda does very well. I had a look at it under the show lights and I'm pretty impressed at how smart it looks.
Practicality looks good, with a 468-litre boot and seats that fold flat, although there don't seem to be any clever tricks beyond that so don't expect huge versatility. Performance comes from a 258hp electric motor that powers the front wheels, and gives the Mazda CX-6e a 0-62mph time of 7.9 seconds, which is sprightly enough among these rivals.
Perhaps the most striking thing about the CX-6e is the interior. The screen is huge! Like... enormous. The 26-inch touchscreen stretched across the dash, and totally dominates the space.
I didn't have much time to try it out, but Mazda tells me that it's all configurable, and it offers a dual-screen perspective so that the passenger can access a variety of features without distracting the driver or having to leave the nav screen. Naturally, you get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates and voice command.

Pricing and on sale date are yet to be confirmed for the new Mazda CX-6e, but expect to see orders open in the summer and deliveries start towards the end of 2026.
We hope to see it start at under £35,000 in the UK, as the competition is very strong is this class and there are cars with much longer range so the Mazda needs to be keen on price.
Even so, if you want a purple SUV, the Mazda CX-6e has just stepped up.
