Volkswagen Group has waded into the ongoing race to launch EV discount schemes ahead of clarification from the Government over its own Electric Car Grant with initiatives for three of its brands.
Volkswagen, Skoda and Cupra have launched their own "Grant Guarantee" schemes, which sees customer savings of up to £1,500 on the Cupra Born, Skoda Elroq, Enyaq SUV, and Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.4. Sportier trims GTX, vRS and VZ do not form part of the scheme, however, and neither do coupe-SUV models, Cupra Tavascan, Skoda Enyaq Coupe and Volkswagen ID.5.

It means that the Cupra Born now starts from £34,190, while the Skoda Elroq comes in at £30,010, the Enyaq at £45,760. The Volkswagen ID.3 is now priced from £29,360 and the ID.4 from £38,090. The full list of models eligible for the grant is below.

Volkswagen, Skoda and Cupra all confirmed that they will honour the £1,500 saving even if Government's grant is not awarded, but said that customers won't receive both manufacturer and Government grants.
To be eligible, customers have to order a car between August 1 and August 31 and take delivery with the new "75" plate from September 1.
