If you've been keeping up with the Electrifying news feed, you'll know we've had plenty to say about Ferrari's latest reveal - the polarising Luce EV. But we weren't the only ones weighing in and the Luce quickly became the internet's favourite punchline, with memes appearing thick and fast. So, in case you've been hiding under a rock for the past week, here's a selection of our favourites. From Swiss chocolatiers to Japanese car makers, there's a lot to unpack.
Toblerone
Yep, you read that right, Swiss chocolate manufacturer, as seen in every good airport, was quick to make a jibe at Ferrari’s questionable exterior design decisions.

They posted a frankly unsettling image of a Toblerone with rounded off corners in a blue matching Ferrari’s own. In a stroke of meme-marketing genius, they captioned the image ‘This is not happening. We’ll always keep the angles.’
Nissan
Nissan Ireland’s social media team were also quick off the mark when it came to harping on the Luce. However, they have since back-tracked and deleted their very popular Instagram post. Fear not though! We were quick enough to get a cheeky screenshot.

Even we have to admit, the similarities between the Luce and the new Nissan Leaf are rather striking. And unlike Toblerone, Nissan hadn’t even gone out of the way to alter the colour of their product!
And now, some assorted finds from across the internet...
Those were the most popular comedy memes from official companies, then, but there are a couple from your everyday internet user that have really caught on in the wake of the Ferrari's reveal. The Fiat Multipla-Luce is my personal favourite! Created by digital artist Alessandro Masera, the Multipla-Luce does exactly what it says on the tin and rather fittingly blends two of the most controversial car designs ever to come out of Italy.

To be fair, the Multipla-Luce turns out to be more than the sum of its parts. We rather like it! Bravo, Alessandro.
Lastly, the inevitable household appliance jokes have also been floating around. Perhaps a nod to the old disparaging comments against EVs being devices over cars (are we not over that, yet?!). This vacuum cleaner did make us laugh, even if we are a bit tired of the old 'white goods' jokes when it comes to electric cars.

Anyway! These are some of the more amusing memes that have come out of the controversial Ferrari Luce. To be honest, the Electrifying team are a bit divided about this. We're all pleased to see Ferrari offering an electric car, but it is also such a departure from the brand's established design language that it's no surprise just how shocked the world is.
Our view is generally that we rather like the looks, but... does it look like a Ferrari? Maybe not. Is it going to be one of those terribly controversial cars that then goes on to sell really well and bring a heritage performance brand to a whole new customer - very few of whom are commenting on funny memes on the internet? Possibly.
