What is the Ferrari Luce?
This is Ferrari’s first electric car, of course! Designed by ex-Apple head designer Jony Ive’s firm Lovefrom, the Ferrari Luce is a 5.0-metre long crossover.
It serves as “a new start for the Maranello marque” (says Ferrari) and features a suitably radical exterior with rear-hinged back doors.

Why’s it called the Ferrari Luce?
We’re not quite sure... Luce is Italian for light. The Luce weighs in at 2,260kg, so we're not sure that qualifies as lightweight, although the abundance of power will go a long way to making up for that.
If we pretend that Luce means luxury though, things start to make a lot more sense as every bit of the interior seems to be made either of aluminium or leather. It’s also the first Ferrari to seat five, with three-abreast rear seating.

And it’s the first Ferrari EV, you say?
Yes! While Ferrari has been flirting with electrification since the LaFerrari back in 2013 and more recently with the SF90 which featured front electric motors for all-wheel drive, the Luce is Ferrari’s first fully electric car.
It doesn’t look like a Ferrari…
That’s true. It’s nothing like anything Ferrari has made before. Even the polarising Purosangue SUV from 2023 still featured the classic, flowing lines featured on Ferraris of the past.
This on the other hand, features much harder lines and sharper edges. The front end features a large cut out for an aero passthrough and the rear fascia features side air curtains for more aero trickery.
The keen eyed among us may also have noticed that there’s no front cowl under which to hide the windscreen wipers. So, at idle, the wipers sit vertically, flanking the windscreen.

You can also see the influence of Jony Ive on the interior, which features a lot of actual buttons, so of course we're immediate fans.
It doesn't look immediately like any other Ferrari on the books, though, with lots of clean lines and a sleek infotainment setup.

How fast is the electric Ferrari Luce?
Here’s the fun part – 1,050hp! It’s a Ferrari, after all, so we knew it was going to be quick.
To that end, it’ll go from 0–62mph in 2.5 seconds with a pull on the big, aluminium, ceiling-mounted launch control plunger and plough on to a top speed of 193mph.
It’s got a 122kWh gross NMC battery capacity (we don’t know the usable capacity just yet) but it gets 320 miles of WLTP range on a single charge.
Thankfully, it’ll charge at up to 350kW and pack on 70kWh of charge - or roughly 200 miles of range - in 20 minutes.
What about the price?
If you have to ask, you can't afford it, etc... The new, electric Ferrari Luce will set you back a touch under £475,000, which makes for quite a punchy sticker price.
It'll also be the most expensive production electric vehicle on sale - even more expensive than the Rolls-Royce Spectre - so at least you can win that round of Top Trumps.
It's a Ferrari Jim, but not as we know it – this is a new Ferrari for the modern electric age
