We only just got our first glimpse of the new Aion UT electric supermini last week and now we’ve just got word that the company has confirmed pricing for the car. It’s all action. 

The UT will come in a single trim level, just like a Leapmotor – so that’s nice and simple, and it’ll cost £28,950 when order books open in September. Vicky Parrott was impressed when she went to have a look at the car, and she's a hard woman to impress. 

Aion's 'Great 8' promise must have helped – an eight-year warranty, eight years of servicing, eight years of roadside assistance and MOTs until the car is eight years old. 

​Aion is also pleased to be offering the car with a generous spec level, with heated seats and steering wheel, 14.6in touchscreen infotainment and 360-degree parking cameras all coming as standard. 

There’s a £1,200 Premium pack you can order that bags you a panoramic glass roof, powered tailgate, ventilated driver’s seat and wireless phone charging. But wait, isn’t that just like having another trim level? Not sure what shenanigans are going on here… 

Still, everyone gets the gigantic 440-litre boot and the delightful array of storage opportunities inside the cabin (check out Vicky’s walkaround video to get the full flavour below), as well as 268 miles of range from the 60kWh LFP battery. 

Aion is also pleased that it has tweaked the UT especially for driving on the UK’s knackered roads, with upgrades to the suspension that make the car ‘playful’ and ‘nimble’. Now I’m definitely excited to take the car on my next Lidl shop. 

Not heard of Aion? Don’t worry, you won’t be Ailone (that didn’t work) – it’s a brand new... er, brand... that’s just launched in the UK this summer (the Aion V SUV is already on sale). It’s a subsidiary of state-owned GAC Group that made nearly two million cars in 2025.
