Early 2024 will see the launch of two more Chinese electric car brands in the UK.  Both will be imported by IA Electric Vehicles, which currently imports the DFSK electric van range.

The first is the Seres 3, a rival for the BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS. Seres is the car making division of controversial technology company Huawei Technologies.

The 4388mm long Seres 3 features a 161bhp motor which gives a 8.9 second 0-62mph time. It is powered by a 53kWh lithium-ion battery, giving an official WLTP range of 206 miles. The company says the Seres 3 will cost less than £30,000 and go on sales in April.

There is no official word on charge rates, but the company says a 20% to 80% top up will take 40 minutes on a suitable DC point.

As usual with Chinese brands, the car is packed with advanced safety systems, including 360-degree camera. The brand will also launch with 5-year, 60,000 mile vehicle warranty and an 8-year battery warranty.

Joining the Seres later in the middle of the year will be the Skywell ET5, described as a 'premium and sophisticated mid-size SUV' with a range of 304 miles (WLTP) from a 86kWh battery and a 201bhp motor. At 4,720mm long, the ET5 is the same size as a BMW iX3. Prices have yet to be confirmed, but are expected to be around £50,000.
