DS F3VER Concept: It's the new DS3!

DS has revealed the new DS Fever or F3VER, if you’re going to follow the DS marketing team's spelling. It’s our sneak peek into the future of DS design, and showcases the next generation electric DS3, but will it be the catalyst that brings DS back into the minds of everyday buyers?

DS currently exists at the fringes of the mass market - not because its cars aren’t good, but because they’re a little bit pricey, and a little bit different for some. They’re a bit like something between a Citroen and a Polestar. Premium, sleek and stylish with lots of French pizazz.

The new DS Fever concept brings plenty more of all three, but to a smaller and hopefully, more affordable design. As the 3 in F3ver might suggest, it’s hoping to be a spiritual successor to the DS3 which while performing middlingly with the critics, was adored by the buyers and sold in solid numbers. That Mini-competitor was around at the very beginning of the DS rebrand and so, DS has decided to return to its modern roots.

What a way to do it too, the Fever is striking even by concept standards. Its paint shifts from shades of blue to purple depending on the angle from which you look at it and its Y-shaped headlights make full use of the front end.

My favourite angle is from the rear three-quarters. The gap in the champagne-coloured roof trim makes it look as though the roof blends into the rear window which then flows into the rear facia itself. That rear fascia is flanked by two jewel-like tail lights, each of which houses over 3,000 LEDs and look kind of like a light tunnel! It's pretty cool, if you ask me.

The production version won’t feature quite so many individual lights, and will no doubt be toned down generally, but there will be a version of these lights and DS isn't shy of extrovert design and materials, so I reckon the all-new DS3 will still look pretty extravagant.

The interior wasn’t quite ready yet, and so the Fever concept has very dark tinted blue windows. It didn’t stop us from trying to take a cheeky peek though, and we'll be seeing it on the show floor at the 2026 Paris motor show, so we'll bring you updates straight from the action!

DS is aiming to hit approximately 310 miles (500km) of range with the new, electric DS3, with the possibility of getting to around 340 miles (550km) of WLTP range further down the line. The production version of this car will be the true test though. We can’t wait to see it.

The original DS3 was a popular car, and this next-gen electric DS3 hopes to capture that appeal
