Electric car causes male infertility (but only in emergencies)

A doctor has obtained proof that electric cars can be a cause of male infertility – but only in emergency situations….A urologist called Christopher Yang from Austin in Texas has announced to the world via Twitter that he performed a vasectomy operation on Thursday with the power for the instruments coming from his all-electric Rivian pick up.

This wasn’t a brave publicity stunt either. The clinic was facing a power cut and the patient was unwilling to rebook the appointment as he had already planned the time off for the operation and recovery. So, with the agreement of the patient, the doctor and his staff decided to run a cable from one of the Rivian’s four Vehicle To Load (V2L) power sockets in to the operating theatre.

The battery power then ran crucial equipment, including the electrocautery machine which is essential to the, er, process. Dr Yang says the operation went well and patient has gone off to rest and recharge.

The Rivian R1T is not a cheap vehicle, costing around £60,000. However owners think it’s a snip.
