Six years ago, I sat down to write the very first words for Electrifying.com. I’d spent more than a year dreaming it up: a site where video would lead the charge, powered by a team of true EV experts, with more women in the mix and fresh voices behind the wheel. Most of all, I wanted it to feel different. This was never meant to be just another car site - it was built to spark change.

When we launched, electric cars were still a mystery to many and your questions came thick and fast. What’s a kilowatt-hour? Isn’t AC/DC a bunch of ageing Aussie rockers? Our mission was simple: to make all of our information - on the website and our YouTube channel - informative, friendly and fun.

Six years and an incredible 250,000 YouTube subscribers later, that same spirit still drives us. We’ve filmed videos in studios, storms and snow. We’ve filmed in cars so small that we could barely fit the cameras in. We’ve driven everything from the gloriously silly Citroën Ami, to sensible family runarounds, and insanely fast sports cars that make leave you sweaty palmed and grinning. 

With over 70 million views and 5.7 million hours of watch time, you’ve come along for the ride. Whether you’ve watched one of our YouTube videos, read our advice for some help choosing your first EV, or shared your own electrifying experiences on our podcast - The Kilowatt Half Hour - you’ve made this journey what it is.

Hitting a quarter of a million subscribers feels incredible, but what really matters is the community behind that number. You’ve challenged us, encouraged us, and occasionally corrected us (fair enough). And we love you for it.

Looking back, I’m proud of how far we’ve come: From those early days explaining the basics of charging cables, to now helping people choose between some 150 electric models, it’s been one wild, watt-filled adventure. The electric revolution isn’t coming - it’s here. And being part of that shift, together with you, is something truly special.
