The new trim sits at the very top of the Ioniq 9 range, above even the current Calligraphy spec. What do you get for your money? Well, as you may have guessed from the name, almost everything on the new spec has been blacked out. Potentially making it the stealthiest three-row, 5-metre-long SUV you can buy. If such a thing exists.
Specifically, you get a matt black Hyundai emblem, exclusive 21 inch alloy wheels and a gloss black rear garnish. Funnily enough, you don’t actually have to get the Calligraphy Black Ink in black- white is an option too. Though, with all the other blacked out bits, you may end up looking like you’re driving a gigantic storm trooper.
On the inside, Hyundai has not held back. There are Nappa leather seats (black, of course), a matching leather steering wheel, and a black aluminium dashboard trim.
The Calligraphy’s original features such as the twin captains chairs and Universal Island 2.0 are all carried over to the new Black Ink too. Beyond that, the Calligraphy Black Ink features no mechanical changes from the standard Calligraphy below it. As such, you get 427hp from a dual motor setup, 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds, and up to 372 miles of WLTP range.
We don’t know what the Calligraphy Black Ink is going to cost just yet, Hyundai has promised more information closer to its release.
