Škoda is expanding its Elroq line-up with the introduction of a long-range model, alongside official confirmation that most of the brand’s electric vehicles qualify for the UK government’s Band 2 £1,500 Electric Car Grant (ECG). The ECG, announced earlier this year, provides buyers with an instant reduction on the price of eligible electric vehicles, applied automatically at point of purchase.

The newly announced Elroq SE L 85 features an 82kWh (77kWh usable) battery, offering a WLTP combined range of up to 355 miles. This addition gives potential buyers access to Škoda’s longest-range option at a competitive price. The Elroq SE L 85 is priced at £35,560 OTR, which includes the £1,500 ECG discount, while the entry-level Elroq SE 50 starts at £31,710 OTR, or £30,210 with the grant applied.

Launched earlier this year, the Elroq is Škoda’s second all-electric model based on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, following the Enyaq. Positioned in the compact SUV segment, the Elroq has achieved both commercial and critical success. Its WLTP combined range across the line-up reaches up to 356 miles (Elroq Edition 85), with rapid DC charging in under 28 minutes, and it incorporates Škoda’s updated Modern Solid design language.

Most derivatives in the Elroq range are eligible for the ECG, excluding the range-topping vRS model. Škoda’s larger Enyaq range also benefits from the same £1,500 grant, although only smaller battery models are eligible for the discount.

To qualify for the UK Electric Car Grant, the brand had to meet strict environmental standards - criteria it already integrates across its operations. From the use of recycled materials to circular economy practices that turn waste into resources, Škoda claims to have sustainability a central part of its long-term strategy.

Škoda is the last of the three Volkswagen Group brands to have models confirmed for the new grant. With Audi’s product range beyond the scope of the grant, only Volkswagen, Cupra and Škoda are able to take advantage of the new scheme.
