The Leapmotor B03 has been revealed at Paris motor show 2026. This small EV is a more conventional, hatchback version of the Leapmotor B03X that I drove recently,
If you need a quick recap, Leapmotor is a Chinese brand that’s been folded into the huge Stellantis manufacturing group – which is also the parent company to Citroen, Peugeot, Fiat and many more.

Leapmotor uses its own platforms for now, though, and this new, affordable electric hatch gets a 53kWh LFP battery for a WLTP range of 242 miles, and has charging speeds of up to 133kW – making it one of the fastest charging cars in this class. In ideal conditions, you can top-up from 10-80% in 21 minutes.
At 4.18m long, 1.79m wide and 1.55m tall it’s slightly bigger than rivals like the Renault 5, Cupra Raval, Kia EV2 and VW ID.Polo, and the space and equipment on offer in the B03 will be chief selling points.

The Leapmotor B03 will be offered with one, well equipped variant that will include a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in, variable ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control with lane-change assist, keyless entry, climate control, reversing camera, heated seats and LED lights.
Inside there’s the same seat layout that impressed me in the BO3X. A 405 litre boot is pretty impressive for a small car, although the VW ID.Polo and Renault 4 have a touch more space.

The ‘LeapFlex’ rear seats also allow the rear seat bases to be flipped up, so that you can through-load a bigger item instead of carrying passengers, or you can fold the seats down flat. The front passenger seat also folds flat, for those surf-board moments.
Performance is delivered via a 194hp electric motor that drives the front wheels, for a 0-62mph time of 7.6sec.
Pricing for the Leapmotor B03 hasn’t been confirmed, but expect it to start at around £22,000 when it goes on sale in the UK from early 2027.
