The launch 'LA Concept' edition of the Polestar 6 has sold out just one week after being reveled, despite a hefty out

The 500 numbered LA Concept editions are set to be the first models off the line and will feature a unique ‘Sky’ blue exterior, light leather interior and the same 21-inch wheels seen on the original Polestar O₂ concept. Although the final price won’t be confirmed until nearer the launch in 2026, Polestar has indicated that the final price tag will be around $200,000 - that's £172,000 at today's exchange rate. A reservation fee of USD 25,000 was required to reserve a build slot for the LA Concept Edition.

Revealed in Los Angeles in March as the Polestar O₂ – and checked out by our own Tomi – the production 6 will feature a folding hard-top and will be built on an all-new bonded aluminium platform.

Developed in-house, the Polestar 6 will also feature the high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture already confirmed for Polestar 5. In terms of power output, the Polestar 6 will develop 884 bhp and 900 Nm from a dual motor powertrain and has a targeted 0-62mph sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. Polestar has yet to reveal any information relating to battery size or predicted range.

“The high interest from our customers shows that a stunning electric roadster like Polestar 6 has high relevance in the sportscar arena,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “The open-top-plus-electric combination is clearly one that appeals to even the most die-hard petrolheads.”

With Polestar 6 now included, Polestar plans to launch four new electric models within five years. This begins with a small SUV – the Polestar 3 – in October 2022. Polestar 3 is planned to be followed by the Polestar 4 SUV coupe in 2023 and Polestar 5, a performance 4-door GT based on the Precept concept car, in 2024.
