If you thought the last 12 months have been a busy period for MG, then wait until you see what's primed for the next two years.
The Chinese-owned British brand has completely overhauled its model range over the past year, meaning the MG4 hatchback is now the oldest model the firm offers. The top-selling electric hatchback only arrived in Britain in 2022, but thanks to the recent avalanche of new products it's now the grandaddy of the range.

Over the next two years, MG is expected to launch another deluge of new cars, particularly focussing on the premium end of the market. From a new entry-level small EV to a high performance GT model, here's what we think will arrive in MG showrooms over the next two years.

IM6 SUV
One of MG’s most anticipated arrivals is the IM6, a mid-size electric SUV that will be carmaker's first real onslaught on the premium market, targeting top-sellers such as the Tesla Model Y. Set to be unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10, 2025, the IM6 is being developed by SAIC’s IM Motors division in partnership with Alibaba and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech.
While initially marketed under IM branding in China, it’s expected that the IM6 will be sold as an MG in the UK, slotting above the MG HS and offering a significant step up in performance and premium feel. High-spec variants will deliver up to 767bhp, achieving 0–62mph in just 3.5 seconds, and feature 800V fast-charging architecture capable of adding plenty of range in just 15 minutes. Expect a plusher feel inside to reflect MG's aspiration to compete against premium brands like Tesla, Audi and BMW.

IM L6 saloon
Joining the IM6 SUV is the IM L6, an all-electric saloon. First showcased at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2024, it's expected to appear in the UK later in 2025.
The L6 is another Tesla-baiting car, this time it's set to do battle with the all-conquering Model 3, while also taking on the BMW i4 and the Seal from big rivals BYD. It should use the same 800V architecture as the IM6, and offer a range of up to 375 miles from a lithium-ion battery. The range is expected to be boosted to over 500 miles thanks to a solid state batteried version, arriving later.

MG Cyberster GTS
MG is expected to show off a Black Edition of the Cyberster Roadster at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the bigger news is the expected arrival of a hard-topped 2+2-seater version costing less than £60,000 later this year.
Previewed by a road-going concept car at last year's Festival of the Speed, the Cyberster GTS will bring some extra practicality to the two-seater Roadster, with a fixed roof and two small seats in the rear. In a nod to its heritage, MG is expected to launch the car this year to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the MGB GT.

MG2
It's rumoured that MG is developing a new, budget-friendly electric vehicle positioned below the MG4. The arrival of the Dacia Spring, Citroen e-C3 and BYD Dolphin Surf hasn't gone unnoticed, and MG Motor UK thinks it could score big with a new entry-level model in its line-up. Details are scarce but it could launch in Britain by the end of 2025 or early 2026, with a starting price as low as £15,000.

MG4 facelift
Earlier this year, details emerged of a brand new MG4 sporting a completely different look from the current car. MG Motor UK later confirmed, however, that this car was intended for China only, with Brits set to receive an updated version of the current model.
Due later in 2025, the updated MG4 is expected to feature a new 12.8-inch infotainment screen from the recently-launched MGS5 EV, plus that car's bank of buttons beneath the touchscreen. Styling tweaks could include new daytime-running lights, redesigned bumpers, and minor aerodynamic tweaks to give a more Cyberster look, while there could also be a few improvements to the car's batteries and electric range.

Cyber X
As seen at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, MG is keen on developing its Cyberster name into a fully-fledged premium sub-brand. Albeit a concept for now, the Cyber X revealed at the Shanghai show gives a hint that MG has its eyes set on the electric premium SUV sector. Having similar dimensions to a Land Rover Defender 90, the boxy-looking X could be fast-tracked into production. If MG pushes the button, it could be here in the UK by late 2026 or early 2027.
