Volkswagen has added a sporty new look to its all-electric SUV range with the launch of new Black Edition versions of the ID.4 and ID.5. Available now, the new trim level brings extra styling, upgraded interior features and added value over the existing Match models.
The ID.4 Black Edition is available in standard and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive guises, while the coupé-roofed ID.5 also gets the same treatment. Each version builds on the respective Match Pro specification with a series of visual and comfort upgrades.

Externally, the Black Editions gain 19-inch Onyx black alloys, gloss black mirror housings and rear nameplates, plus high-gloss black detailing on the roof and rear pillar. A panoramic glass roof also comes as standard, adding a premium touch to the overall look.
Inside, Volkswagen fits its Top-Sport ‘Plus’ Interior Pack as standard. This includes front sports seats with integrated headrests, power-adjustable lumbar support with a massage function, and ArtVelours microfleece upholstery.

VW says the added equipment would normally cost £4,625 if optioned individually, but the Black Edition trim represents a saving, with prices starting just £1,780 above the equivalent Match versions. On-the-road pricing including VAT is £46,180 for the ID.4 Black Edition, £47,900 for the ID.4 Black Edition 4MOTION, and £47,680 for the ID.5 Black Edition.
All three models are powered by the same 77kWh battery and deliver 286PS, with WLTP ranges of up to 341 miles for the ID.5. The ID.4 variants offer up to 336 miles (322 miles for the 4MOTION version).
