EV charging stations need CCTV and bright lighting to keep women safe, new campaign says.

Badly lit and secluded electric vehicle chargers are putting female EV drivers at risk, according to a new campaign from motoring experts calling for operators to adopt a “safety first” approach to new charging stations. 

Local councils and charge point operators should install bright lighting, rain covers, clear signage and CCTV to make women feel safer using public chargepoints alone, according to Electrifying.com, which offers consumers advice on switching to an electric car.
