​Aion has revealed the UT Cross, a brand new range topping version of its Aion UT, aiming to blend the agility and parkability of the supermini with the more imposing styling and higher vantage point of an SUV. 

The UT Cross was joined at the Paris motor show last week by the GS7, a new five-seat plug-in hybrid SUV. Both cars are due to arrive in the UK in early 2027.

The UT Cross features the same mechanical foundations as the Aion UT, with a 60kWh LFP battery based on GAC’s Magazine architecture and 201hp from a single front-mounted motor. 

However, the UT Cross distinguishes itself with a 20mm taller ride height over the standard UT, new black plastic wheelarch and sill protection, plus roof rails and fresh alloy wheels. 

On the inside, the UT Cross’s interior is unchanged from the standard UT, which means there’s a heat pump included, as well as a heated steering wheel. The same glass roof is an optional extra and likely included in the same premium pack that can be added to the standard UT.

There’s no word yet on how the UT Cross’s increased ride height will affect range, though we expect it to decrease slightly compared to the standard UT's. 

It'll benefit from the same 87kW of DC fast charging capability, though. UK pricing is also yet to be announced.

GS7 PHEV SUV joins the Aion range

The Aion GS7 is perhaps most interesting because it sits on Aion’s new EV+ platform. 

We don’t yet know many details about the new platform, but we do know that the GS7 carries over the same strategy of providing a premium interior experience like with the Aion V and UT models before it. 

Of course, being Aion products, both the UT Cross and the GS7 both qualify for Aion’s Great 8 Promise that brings with it eight years of warranty, roadside assistance and MOT cover and is transferable between owners.
