Renault has announced prices and specs for the new Kangoo E-Tech van, which goes on sale in October. 

Prices start from £33,055 after the plug-in van grant and VAT are applied, rising to £36,055 for the top model.

The Kangoo is available in a long or short-wheelbase format with the choice of ‘Start’ or ‘Advance’ trim. The standard model has a load volume of up to 4.2m³, a payload of up to 615kg and a towing capacity of 1,500kg. 

The long-wheelbase adds an extra 200mm of access via a larger side door and there’s also a rack inside to store long items that would usually be kept on the roof, this helps to increase battery efficiency and security. 

The entry level trim ‘Start’ trim comes with a 12V power socket in the front, e-call which alerts the emergency services if you are involved in an accident, and hill start assist. You also get cruise control with a speed limiter, heated seats and roof bar fixings.

‘Advance’ trim adds an 8 inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LED lighting in the load area and rear parking sensors. There’s also an extensive list of optional extras including a rear parking camera, active emergency braking and lane keep assist. 

As well as a refreshed interior the electric model has a 45kWh battery that gives a WLTP range of up to 186 miles. Unlike the old Kangoo, it can accept DC rapid charging at a rate of  up to 75kW, delivering an 80 percent charge in under 45 minutes.

Charging at home with a 7.4kW wallbox, the Kangoo will be fully charged in under seven hours and a 15 to 80 percent top up at a 22kW charger should take no more than 90 minutes. There’s also an 8 year or 100,000 mile warranty that covers battery performance.
