Chinese van maker Farizon has unveiled two new variants of its new electric SV a large-capacity taxi and a multi-passenger Combi.
Currently the two new variants are Chinese market only, but a 1,000 vehicle order from Hong Kong based taxi company Big Bee has made right-hand-drive production for the UK market more viable.
Like the van versions, the new seven-seat model has a powered sliding side-door with a 900mm opening, hidden B-pillar and lower 408mm cabin step, allowing for easier and faster entry and exit for passengers.
At the rear, the taxi’s double doors open to leave a 1780mm wide loading aperture, and 630 litres luggage capacity with all the seats in place, which can accommodate six large 20-inch suitcases.
Inside is seating for seven passengers across three rows of seats, with a wide central aisle of the second row leaving enough room for third-row passengers to easily and quickly locate their seats without complicated folding mechanisms.
The interior has cupholders, a multi-function storage box and USB Type-C charging ports located in each row.
The new Farizon SV Combi delivers a mix of cargo carrying abilities and space for passengers. It can be configured with five or six seats. Cargo space in L1 variants, with a length of 5 metres, stands at 3.8m3; the L2 variants, which are 5.5 metres long, offer 5m3 of space for luggage.
The taxi has an official range of 370km, while the Combi manages and 319km.
Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group is the commercial business division of Geely, the company which also owns the Volvo, Polestar and Lotus brands.
