Dacia has announced that the new revised version of its tiny Spring electric crossover has been granted access to the hallowed halls of Band 1 electric car grant glory – that’s £3,750 off to you and me, which makes the car an actual steal. Don’t blame us if the cops come knocking.
The company has given the Spring a little makeover for 2026, with more powerful motors, an upgraded battery, tweaks to the drive and more powerful charging. Phew. Not only that, but the lineup of Dacia's only electric model now starts from £12,240.
The line-up has been simplificated – there are now only two options to choose from, the Expression entry model and the Extreme range topper, which will set you back an eye-watering £13,240.

The Expression car gets three-speed wipers, aircon, cruise control, 15-inch steel wheels, a one-piece folding rear bench and carpet mats. There are two Isofix points in the back as well. This car comes with the 71hp motor, which gets to 62mph in 12.3 seconds (a massive upgrade on the old version’s 19 seconds).
It should also be noted that all Springs now get 40kW fast charging as standard thanks to upgrades to the 24kWh LFP battery. That’ll get the car from 20–80% in 29 minutes, with a WLTP range of 140 miles.
The Extreme model gets a 10.1-inch digital infotainment display with CarPlay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors with a reversing camera, V2L capability, heated electrically adjustable door mirrors and electric rear windows. This model gets the 102hp motor that manages the 0–62mph dash in a positively spritely 9.6 seconds. The added power doesn’t affect range.
Fancy driving one? The upgraded Dacia Spring is already available to order today, with deliveries of the bargain tiny EV starting in spring (that’s on brand at least) 2026.
