Kia has revealed pricing details for its new smallest electric car, the EV2.
The EV2 will be available from launch with two battery sizes – 42.2kWh and 61kWh – offering official ranges of 190 miles and 281 miles respectively.

The headline news is that the car will start from £27,995 with the 61kWh battery, but Kia is hotly anticipating its baby EV will be eligible for the full £3,750 of the government’s plug-in car grant in that longer range car, so it’s offering that same amount as a discount until it’s officially confirmed.
That means the EV2 Air kicks the range off from £24,245. Next up is the First Edition car, which is the sole offering with the 42.2kWh battery and comes in at £26,000 with a £1,500 discount from Kia (that car will likely only qualify for the Band 2 grant).

The GT-Line and GT-Line S models both get the big battery and will cost £28,995 and £32,595 respectively.
Other details that we’ve found out about the car include the fact that it’s being sold in the UK as a five-seater (it’s offered in some markets with an optional four-seat layout with individual sliding seats in the back), has a 362-litre boot and a 15-litre frunk under the bonnet up front.
Check out what Ginny thought of the car when she drove it recently – spoiler alert, but she was impressed enough to wonder whether she would even go for an EV2 over a Renault 5 or the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Polo...
Orders have opened today for the new Kia EV2, with deliveries beginning later this year. Kia says that the First Edition car will be first off the line in Slovakia, with production on the other cars starting in June.
