Fiat has revealed a new entry level electric version of its Grand Panda supermini, which will start the model range off from £20,995.
We’re not sure whether the name of the new car is an intentional tribute to the tiny soft drink that used to be available at newsagents across the country – the maker of Panda Pops took bottles off the shelves in 2011 because they were deemed to be too sugary.

The Grande Panda Pop, however, is just sweet enough, especially with its new standard fit 16in white steel wheels. Equipment-wise it gets two-tone fabric seats, smartphone mirroring, rear parking sensors and a 10.25in touchscreen infotainment system.
The electric Grande Panda will now be available in Pop, Icon and La Prima trims with the top spec car priced at £24,035. All models come with a 44kWh LFP battery that’s rated for up to 199 miles of WLTP range. The battery will charge at up to 100kW on a rapid charger, getting from 10–80% in around 20 minutes. One of our favourite touches on the car is the AC charging cable that’s integrated into the front grille and charges up to 7kW.

The change to the lineup makes the trims equal between the hybrid and EV versions. The previous entry model, the Red, was created in partnership with the AIDS fundraising charity of the same name started by Irish rocker Bono. Fiat says that its partnership with organisation continues, and that any Grande Panda ordered in Red will carry some of the charity’s badges.
The distinctive design of the latest version of Fiat's Panda harks all the way back to the 1980s original
