Fiat is a powerhouse when it comes to the best value-for-money cars. Once a standalone company, the Italian marque is one of many in the newly created Stellantis group of car companies, which includes Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall, Chrysler, Maserati and Fiat, among others. Its 500, first launched in 1957, was one of the cheapest and most efficient cars you could buy and very, very small. The 500 was brought back in 2007 and has since been one of the only Fiats you can buy in the UK, so it’s fitting this icon of the brand is the first to come as a pure-electric. While there has been an electric 500 in the past, the new 500 Electric (or 500e) is the first to be mass-produced by Fiat. It’s so good we named it as our Electrifying Car of the Year 2021.
