Omoda and Jaecoo have more than doubled their sales in September 2026 compared with the same month in 2025 according to figures released by the carmakers.

Just two months ago, we reported that the Chery-owned twins had passed a significant milestone, with over 100,000 cars sold in the UK – and it appears the corks are set to pop once again.

Registration figures rose from 10,812 in September 2025 to 22,294, a massive 106% increase accompanied by a market share rise from 3.45% to 6.36% in the same period.

These are admittedly two month-long periods from two years but there’s no denying that they are indicative of Omoda/Jaecoo’s meteoric rise to sales success in the two years they've been operating in the UK.

In fact, there has been a 24% growth in new registrations for Omoda/Jaecoo since March 2026 alone. The big hitter was, unsurprisingly, the Jaecoo 7. It rose from fourth in the UK's national sales rankings for September 2025 up to first in September 2026.

Omoda/Jaecoo reckon their success is, in large part, down to their broad offerings of electrified options across their model range.

Customers can choose from purely petrol engines (if they really want to) with a selection of hybrid, plug-in and EV options along the way.

In fact, 76.1% of Omoda/Jaecoo’s sales have been electrified, with two-thirds of the brands' overall sales being based on their Super Hybrid System in its hybrid or plug-in guises. UK managing director Victor Zhang said that their aim was to let customers “go electrified their way.”

Other reasons beside electrification have been cited – Omoda and Jaecoo clearly take pride in their customer service, scoring 8.8 out of 10 in the National Franchise Dealer Association's dealer attitude survey for winter 2026 compared to the 6.9 national average. Fleet sales were also a point of focus, having taken up 30.5% of Omoda'Jaecoo sales in September 2026.

Overall then, Omoda and Jaecoo show no signs of slowing down and we’re intrigued to see what they come up with next, hopefully something other than an SUV. We can dream...
