Peugeot updates e-Rifter with interior refurb and price cut

Just over a year after its release, Peugeot has updated its MPV e-Rifter range, with the bulk of the changes being focussed on the interior and the pricing. The changes coincide with the introduction of a revamped trim selection, enabling the entry-level e-Rifter to qualify for the government’s plug-in car grant threshold.

The Allure - which replaces the Allure Premium trim level - will begin at £30,100 once the government grant is applied. The GT-line models will see no specific name changes, but will benefit from a general price reduction of £1,060, down to £33,630.

With seating for five, the e-Rifter’s previously optional extra of three independent rear seats are now available as standard with all models. And for increased practicality, the e-Rifter – which can tow up to 750kg – has now been fitted with trailer stability technology that automatically reduces vehicle speed when it identifies the trailer swerving.

Further changes include a new key design that features a button to unlock the load area – with the boot space holding a maximum capacity of 3,500-litres with the seats folded. An optional Ice White colour, which replaces the outgoing Bianca White, has also been added.

The e-Rifter contains a 136hp electric motor that has a maximum WTLP range of 172 miles, and requires 30 minutes to charge to 80% capacity thanks to its 100kW DC maximum charge rate. A 7.4kW single phase charger to al e-Rifters as standard, with a 11kW charger also an option.

Prices now start at just over £30,000
