Mazda has revealed details of its new 6e electric saloon before the car starts deliveries in the summer.
The car will get a single battery specification that’s different to the two that are being offering in the European market – UK cars will have a 78kWh LFP battery, as opposed to the 69kWh LFP and 80kWh NCM packs on the continent.
Mazda says that the battery in the UK specification cars “combines the best of both” – the 6e has a WLTP range of 348 miles, and the battery will get from 10–80% at 195kW in 24 minutes.

The Mazda 6e will come in two trims – Takumi, priced at £38,995, and Takumi Plus, which will cost £39,995.
We first saw the 6e unveiled at the Brussels motor show at the beginning of 2025 and the car has long been on sale in European markets, but slow to arrive in the UK. The next electric Mazda to arrive after that will be the CX-6e SUV we saw at this year's Brussels show.
Tom Barnard drove a Euro-spec version of the car at the end of 2025 and thought it was a reasonable effort, and hopefully the extra range and faster charging of the UK version will give it an edge.
The car was developed with Chinese carmaker Changan, which does have a presence in the country but won’t be selling the 6e here, which is called the Deepal SL03 in the Changan range.

The spec of the ‘base’ trim is strong, the Takumi car getting a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, dual zone aircon, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree parking cameras, wireless smartphone connectivity and an external music speaker.
Takumi Plus adds a leather interior with a suede topping for the dashboard and a sunshade for the panoramic roof.
The 6e is available to order straight away from Mazda, ahead of deliveries starting over the summer.
