A Vauxhall electric van will cost you the same per month on lease as a diesel at the moment

Vauxhall says that buyers of its Combo Electric and Vivaro Electric vans can get them for the same monthly price as the diesel versions.

The carmaker says that customers using its in-house leasing or contract services will benefit not just from the same monthly price, but on the same terms too, meaning agreement length, annual mileage and deposit.

Vauxhall gives the example of a top spec Combo Electric Pro panel van with a 52kWh battery and 213-mile range that can be had for £305 a month over three years/30,000 miles with an £1,800 deposit, the same as the diesel model in the same spec.

A larger Vivaro Electric Prime panel van with a 75kWh and 219-mile WLTP range is £335 a month over three years/30,000 miles with a £2,000 deposit, the same as the diesel version.

Small businesses and sole traders who order their vans before the end of May for delivery before the end of September will benefit from another offer that gives them £1,000 off in addition to the current prices.

Vauxhall also says that SME and sole trader customers are entitled to a free Ohme EV charger for installation at home, including up to £1,050 of installation costs including VAT, to take advantage of typically cheaper overnight charging rates.

The Combo Electric is built at Vauxhall’s factory in Ellesmere Port near Liverpool, alongside other electric versions of the van that use the same Stellantis platform, including the Citroen e-Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.

Production of the Vivaro Electric used to happen at Vauxhall’s Luton plant until that was shut down in 2025, but production is set to shift to Ellesmore Port later in 2026 following the installation of a new production line.
