Fancy Chinese brand Zeekr has unveiled its new flagship SUV at the Paris motor show – the 9X is a six-seater plug-in hybrid with 897hp and a 111-mile (179km) electric range.
That range comes courtesy of a 55.1kWh battery that doesn’t skimp on the charging tech despite being a plug-in hybrid. The battery is on a 900V system that can charge at up to 330kW for a 10–80% charge in under 10 minutes.

The performance is much perkier than you’d expect from a three-tonne beast as well – 0–62mph is out of the way in 4.1 seconds and the car will go on to a 149mph top speed.
It’s very posh inside, with an interior formed of Nordic wood, fancy Nappa leather and a crystal rotary infotainment controller that Zeekr says has been cut with “jewellery-grade precision”.
It's one of those cars that you'd definitely prefer to be in the back of rather than driving, though.
There’s a 32-speaker Naim sound system for an “immersive” audio experience and the seats in the first two rows are heated and cooled massage numbers with powered leg rests.

There’s also a smart fridge in the car that can heat and cool, and a one-touch cinema mode that Zeekr says transforms the cabin into a “private entertainment space”. There are six high-res displays around the cabin, including a removable rear screen and a 17in 3K OLED entertainment screen that drops down from the ceiling.
There are safety innovations too, like the “integrated thermoformed sunroof ring” which forms high-strength protection around the panoramic roof to keep the car as it should be if there’s an accident.

All that premium car comes at a premium price – the Zeekr 9X has already gone in sale in European markets at €119,500 (£111,000) with deliveries starting in early 2027. No word on whether or when the 9X will be coming to the UK.
Also at the Paris show is Zeekr’s newly facelifted 7X SUV, which is a touch more attainable for most people starting from around €53,000 (£45,000). We drove the launch version of the car in 2025 and liked what we saw. Just needs to go on sale in the UK...
