Our first drive in the Q6 isn't just about gauging the quality of Audi's latest SUV. The hardware used in this car will form the basis of all sorts of new electric cars wearing brands from across the VW group. The first signs are very promising.

Ginny Says

“Here's the problem for Audi: we've been told that this new Q6 will cost under £60,000. It has great efficiency, a 375 mile range and super-fast charging thanks a new 800v electric system. It's spacious too. So why on earth would anyone pay more for the Q8 e-tron? ”

Tom Says

“Audi is very proud of the lights on this car. The tail lamps can make lots of pretty patterns and you can choose the appearance from an app. There will even be special upgrades available online. That might seem a gimmick, but they can also display warnings if there is an accident ahead or a passenger is opening a door. ”

Got questions? We've put together the most frequently-asked topics below. If there's something we haven't answered here or in the review then let us know on our contact page

Why is the Q6 e-tron such a big deal?

It is the first car which will use VW's new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) hardware which will form the basis of a whole raft of new electric models from Audi, Porsche and even Bentley.

What's the range of the new Audi Q6 e-tron?

There are no official figures yet, but Audi are confident it will be 'in excess' of 375 miles.

How fast is the new Audi Q6 e-tron?

Audi say the standard 55 will have a 0-60 time of under six seconds. Splash out on the SQ6 e-tron and it lops around a second and a half off the acceleration time.

What's all the fuss about the lights?

The front and rear lamps make pretty patterns. They can do useful things like warn cyclists if someone is opening a door, but owners can also choose the appearance and animation.

How much is the Audi Q6 e-tron and when is it on sale?

We've been promised the Q6 will cost less than £60,000 and be on sale before the end of 2023.
