Mazda wasn’t first to the electric car party with its MX-30, and now it has launched a plug-in hybrid SUV that arrives a little later than other carmakers’. It’s an interesting, fun to drive SUV that’s well made and feels plush but the company car tax level is nothing special.

Ginny Says

“I can't believe Mazda's engineers couldn't find some way to get an extra mile of electric range in order to slip under the BIK barriers. At 12% it's just not competitive - Range Rover PHEV drivers will pay less in tax every year than the CX-60 driver.”

Nicki Says

“The near-miss on the BIK rate means the CX-60 doesn't make so much sense as a company car, but for private buyers its lower purchase price and lease costs make it an interesting alternative to premium brand. ”

Got questions? We've put together the most frequently-asked topics below. If there's something we haven't answered here or in the review then let us know on our contact page

Is the Mazda CX-60 bigger than the CX-5?

Yes, it is. While the CX-5 is a petrol and diesel powered SUV that rivals cars like the Ford Kuga, the CX-60 sits in the class above. It rivals everything from a Toyota RAV4 PHEV to a BMW X3 30e

Is the Mazda CX-60 a hybrid?

Mazda is only offering the CX-60 as a plug-in hybrid and as a mild-hybrid petrol and diesel. There’s no full-hybrid version available

Will there be an electric CX-60?

No, there won’t. For the time being the only car Mazda is offering as a fully electric vehicle is the MX-30 which is smaller than the CX-60

How long does it take to charge the Mazda CX-60?

A full top-up will take just under two and a half hours from an 11kW AC charger

What is the electric range and emissions of the Mazda CX-60?

With a full battery, the CX-60 should be able to do 39 miles in EV mode, says Mazda. In our experience, it’s more like 34 in the summer months. Emissions, meanwhile, are 33g/km
