The original Mini was developed as a result of a fuel crisis in the 1950s. And we think the new MINI Electric is the perfect re-invention of the brand for the world we live in today.

Nicki Says

“As a fan of the BMW i3 I’m reassured by the fact that a lot of its proven tech has gone into the MINI Electric. Its range means it works best for city driving, regular shorter journeys or as a second car. But that smaller battery means it weighs less and is faster to charge, both of which are a big plus.”

Ginny Says

“Its low-ish range divides opinion. So I’ll say once again that the average UK car is driven for just 20 miles a day. I love that it's familiar, fun to drive and is at the affordable end of the EV spectrum. In fact we think it's the best value MINI of the bunch and it definitely puts a smile on my face.”

Is the MINI Electric a good car?

The electric MINI is great to drive and has the cute looks and build quality you’d expect from the brand. The battery isn’t huge though, so make sure it fits to your lifestyle.

How much is a MINI Electric on finance?

With a £4,500 deposit, monthly finance payments start at £299 per month for a 48 month Personal Contract Hire agreement. That seems high, but take into account the savings you’ll make on fuel.

Is the MINI Electric fast?

It feels really fast from a standstill and is Cooper-quick on the move. Importantly it is good fun to drive too, with a direct and sporty feeling that makes it easy to drive around town yet brings a smile to your face when you are on a twisty road.

What is the range of the MINI Electric?

The official figures suggest you’ll be able to go between 124 and 144 miles before you need to charge the batteries, depending on the weather and the type of roads you’re driving on.

Can you get the MINI Electric with five doors?

No, the MINI Electric is only available as a three door at the moment. There is a plug-in hybrid version of the bigger Countryman but it’s more expensive and not one of our favourites.
