Ginny Says

“Toyota’s first proper pure electric car brings expertise gained from years of partial electrification. It's had a bumpy start though, with embarrassing recalls and reported range issues.”

Tom Says

“It’s as much about the package and lease deals and lack of worry as it is about the car. Car is very nice, efficient, no blowing off of socks, but it’s not designed to. ”

The bZ4X might look expensive on paper, but Toyota’s ‘one stop shop’ lease plans will appeal to many people.

Toyota is offering a new ‘one stop shop’ for bZ4X purchase - a scheme that includes fitting a wallbox, charging, servicing - pretty much anything - you can even include insurance if you wish. Prices range from just under £42k for the basic two wheel drive model, right up to £51,550 for the Premiere Edition AWD, and the Toyota Relax warranty - a ‘service activated’ warranty that kicks in every time you have the car dealer-serviced - should see any car come with peace-of-mind as standard. That’s one reason to look at the bZ4X over it’s comparatively-priced rivals - the package is comprehensive, even if the outright cost seems a touch expensive.

Toyota bZ4X running costs

The bZ4x is pretty efficient, getting between an A and an A+ in our efficiency ratings. With a heatpump and water-cooled battery as standard, it should by pretty cheap to run, and the longer range should mean you can charge where it's cheapest rather than having to stop for expensive top ups.

Initial leasing figures seem to suggest that the bZ4X will probably end up in the same hard-fought arena as all the decent electric SUVs - so £600-ish a month. Although Toyota’s warranty and ‘Toyota Relax’ servicing-activated extended warranties offer a truckload of peace of mind.
