Jonty Renk

Jonty is head of video at Electrifying.com, leading the production of the team's reviews, first drives and video features. Since 2018, he's filmed hundreds of cars, from everyday family hatchbacks to high-performance supercars, working with some of the UK's best-known automotive publications before joining Electrifying in 2026.

Before moving into the automotive world, Jonty spent four years filming elite cycling, covering some of the sport's biggest events with Eurosport and Global Cycling Network. After one too many days hanging off the back of a motorbike while filming the Tour de France at full speed, he decided it might be time for a slightly safer career.

Having spent years wedged into passenger seats while filming road tests and first drives at What Car?, Jonty has developed a strong knowledge of cars. From keeping a camera steady on a twisting mountain pass to finding the perfect angle for an interior shot, he's experienced hundreds of new models from a unique perspective that combines technical filmmaking with a genuine passion for cars.
