Electrifying.com has been named ‘Best specialist website’ of the year at the prestigious annual Press Gazette ‘Future of Media’ awards held in London this week.

The judges praised the website for its “great content presented in an engaging and accessible style”, and also commended the “brand built around the needs of the mainstream consumer, rather than the enthusiast”.

The win came during the same week that Electrifying’s popular YouTube channel passed 250,000 subscribers, an audience that has grown organically around entertaining videos that still stay true to Electrifying’s main aims of demystifying EV tech and helping people make the switch to electric.

Electrifying founder Ginny Buckley said in her post celebrating the subscriber milestone: “I’m proud of how far we’ve come: from those early days explaining the basics of charging cables, to now helping people choose between some 150 electric models, it’s been one wild, watt-filled adventure. The electric revolution isn’t coming – it’s here.”

There to receive Electrifying’s Press Gazette award at the Hilton London Bankside hotel were deputy editor Mike Askew, associate editor Nicola Hume and Electrifying's director of people and partnerships, Sara Price.

Electrifying started in 2020 as a way to help get to grips with the confusing new world of electric cars, with a wide range of contributors who have all put in plenty of miles behind the wheels of EVs.

As you'll no doubt have found already, Electrifying has helpful advice on everything from which electric car to go for, to whether you should get a home charge point installed or how charging even works in the first place.
