Christmas is long gone, but no one told Fiat it appears – it’s only gone and knocked £4k off the price of its entry level 500e supermini. 

The 24kWh 500e now starts at £20,995, which Fiat says has been pegged to match the entry price of the new Grande Panda, which begins UK deliveries in the coming months. Fiat announced the entry level Grande Panda Pop (it's just fun to say) back in November. 

It should be noted that the entry level Grande Panda has a 43.8kWh battery that’s rated at 199 miles of WLTP range, which contrasts rather sharply with the 21.3kWh 500e that is rated at 118 miles WLTP but will struggle to make 90 miles of real world range.

​Fiat hasn’t yet updated its website, so we’re not sure whether the £4,040 discount applies across the 500e’s range – we’d definitely recommend the larger batteried version that gets 37.3kWh of usable capacity for a WLTP range that’s the same as the Panda at 199 miles. 

There are other price drops – the Fiat 600e now starts from £26,750 (a £3,285 saving on before) and the electric Abarth versions of both 500e and 600e get a cut, with £1,990 off and £2,990 off respectively. The Abarth 500e now starts from £27,995 and the Abarth 600e from £33,995. 

Fiat said its aim was to make “the switch to electric more accessible than ever” with its new prices, which are effective immediately.

The 500e was launched back in 2020, so it’s getting on a bit in car years, but there’s been no sign of a major facelift yet, let alone an all new version of the car. Sales of the electric supermini have been a bit disappointing for Fiat, so it’s retrofitted the car with a petrol engine that just went into production at the end of 2025.
