New Chinese SUV brand JAECOO is set for a UK launch in July with a BMW iX1 sized luxury SUV. It will initially be offered with a PHEV petrol/electric powertrain, with a pure EV expected in 2025.

Measuring 4,500mm in length,1,865mm wide and 1,680mm high, the JAECOO J7 is said to have better off-road capabilities than some ‘softer’ rivals.

Among the technology on offer is a feature called ARDIS (all-terrain driving intelligence system) and third-generation hybrid PHEV technology. The car also features a massive 24.6 inch display.

The J7 will later be joined by a bigger X5-sized J8 and a smaller J5. There is no word on the powertrains or prices yet.

JAECOO (a name which is means ‘cool hunter’) is part of the massive Chery group, which is preparing to launch another electric SUV brand called OMODA in the UK next month with the 5 SUV

The J7 is said to have decent off-road ability
