XPeng has revealed a first look at its new coupe-SUV, the L03, at an event in Germany.
The Chinese manufacturer is launching its new car simultaneously in China and across other international markets including the UK, where previously its models have been made available in China first.
The car has been styled by ex-Ferrari designer JuanMa López, with a sporty swoopy sort of look going on. It’s going to be available with electric or range-extender powertrains, though we don’t have any details about those yet other than a 1,500kg towing capacity.

The new L03 is described by the company as a “next-gen AI SUV coupe”, which combines many of the latest and most fashionable words without saying a great deal (and the company is already peng).
SUV we can understand, the coupe part remains debatable on anything with five doors, but how does the new car qualify as a next-gen AI model?
Well, XPeng says that its latest AI assistant in the car has been designed to respond to natural language and interpret what you want rather than just listening to commands.
That functionality is part of the Chinese carmaker’s ‘New Global Intelligent Cockpit Experience with XOS 6’, which is already functional in China but now being rolled out to international markets.

Existing XPeng owners will benefit from an over the air update that will upgrade their AI assistant to the latest version.
Of course everyone says that the latest version of their AI assistant is a game changer and it still struggles with anything more complicated than turning the heated seats on – we look forward to trying out XPeng’s latest tech.
Company chairman He Xiaopeng is certainly enthusiastic about it: “One of XPeng’s key priorities is to always be among those manufacturers providing the customers with the most advanced technology," he said. “We are building a physical AI company. We want to use technology to change how people move and how people live.”

We’re not sure exactly when the way that we move and live will change – UK prices and specifications for the XPeng L03 are yet to be confirmed, but the car is set to arrive in the country at some point in 2027.
The company already has the G6 SUV on sale in the UK, with the X9 seven-seater set to join it in dealerships shortly. We're also supposed to be getting the P7+ before the end of the year, but no date has been confirmed for that car yet.
