Peugeot has dropped its prices – E-3008 and E-5008 escape the clutches of the expensive car supplement

Peugeot has announced a raft of price cuts across its numbered model range, including the electric versions.

The changes mean that the E-3008 now qualifies for the £1,500 electric car grant with its standard range 73kWh battery and all versions of the E-3008 and E-5008 now sit below the £50,000 threshold for the expensive car supplement.

Getting the Band 2 electric car grant puts some air between the standard range and long range versions of the E-3008, which before the grant were only split by £2,700 on the price list.

Official WLTP range for the E-3008 is up to 337 miles for the standard range battery and up to 440 miles for the long range version (with variations depending on the spec of the car). We’ve found the real world range on most electric Peugeots to be a good chunk below WLTP, especially in our long-term review of the E-3008.

The new £34,945 starting price for the 73kWh E-3008 will go some way in terms of adding to the car’s appeal, however.

Dropping below the expensive car supplement threshold is a significant move for potential E-3008 and E-5008 buyers – the chancellor upped the amount from £40k to £50k for electric cars in her 2025 budget.

The expensive car supplement means paying an extra £440 per year in VED for years two to six of a car’s life. Dodging it means a £2,200 saving for those drivers.

The other significant thing to note in Peugeot’s price shuffle is that the E-308 is now the cheapest option in that car’s model range. Its £29,495 starting price brings it in £500 cheaper than the base petrol model in its entry level Allure trim.

Prices for the newly facelifted version of the E-408 were recently announced, starting from £32,695 including the electric car grant.

All these electric Peugeots will also continue to benefit from the French carmaker’s eight-year/100,000-mile warranty and access to the Free2Move Charge Pass, which is administered in conjunction with Octopus Electroverse.
