XPeng has revealed a first look at its updated G6 SUV – this sleek looking coupe-style SUV only went on sale a year ago, but it’s already getting a little refresh from the Chinese carmaker.
The G6 launched in China in 2023 and went on sale in certain European markets in 2024, before the company expanded to the UK in March 2025. According to SMMT figures the company sold 750 cars in the first 11 months of 2025.

The upgraded G6 features improved materials on the inside and some subtle styling tweaks to the exterior, including full width light bars up front. XPeng says it has made “20,000 incremental improvements” to the car – there’s probably a prize if you can spot them all.
There’s now just the one 80.8kWh LFP battery using the company’s next generation 800V tech which XPeng says can charge at up to 451kW in the higher spec versions of the car, getting it from 10–80% charge in 12 minutes provided you can find a suitably high powered charger. The entry version has to slum it with a mere 382kW max charging speed.

There will be three versions of the car on sale – the Standard Range and Long Range cars will both be rear-wheel drive, while the top spec dual motor Performance Black Edition will be all-wheel drive.
The Standard Range car starts at £39,990, gets from 0–62mph in 6.9 seconds and offers 292 miles of WLTP range. The £44,990 Long Range car gets to 62mph a shade quicker at 6.7 seconds and will manage 326 miles thanks to its 480hp.

Meanwhile, the Performance badged car will top out the range at £49,990 and gets from 0–62mph in a heady 4.1 seconds, while still maintaining a WLTP range figure of 316 miles.
All G6s have a 571-litre boot, which expands to 1,374 litres with the seats down, and the car has a 15.6in touchscreen infotainment display as standard that dominates an otherwise minimalist cabin.
Full specs aren’t available for the updated car yet, but we know that the G6 gets wireless phone charging, heated ventilated fronts seats, reclining rear seats and a heat pump as standard. Long Range and Performance models get a 9in digital rearview mirror, so that’s nice.
The G6 looks pretty slick from most angles, but is it giving more Porsche or Tesla Model Y vibes?
