It's a marmite car, but we love it, even if it is starting to feel dated in places

Ginny Says

“The original Soul EV was the first all-electric car I drove and it won me over with its functional, but cool boxy looks. This is the second version and just like the first it’s a capable, easy to drive, and practical car you’ll enjoy living with.”

Nicki Says

“Its quirky design divides opinion, but there’s a reason boxes are so useful. They’re very practical! The Soul EV can deal with five people and luggage with casual ease, and has a great driving range of around 280 miles so it works on longer journeys as well as in town.”

Kia Soul EV

Is the Kia Soul EV a good car?

We think the electric Soul is a good car, with a long range and great performance. It’s no longer at the cutting edge of tech though and looks relatively expensive, so if you don’t need the big battery it might be better to look at cheaper rivals.

Is the Kia Soul EV a hybrid?

No, it’s a pure electric car. Kia does offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of the Niro, which is slightly larger and less divisive looking.

Does the Kia Soul EV have all-wheel-drive?

No - despite the SUV-like looks, the Soul is front-wheel drive only.

What is the range of the Kia Soul EV?

The Soul EV has a massive battery, which means it has a longer range than some electric cars costing twice as much. Drive carefully and you’ll get 280 miles between charges.

How long is the warranty on a Kia Soul EV?

All Kias are covered by an impressive seven year/100,000 miles warranty which covers most of the car. This includes the battery too, although most rivals have eight year cover on the power pack and electric motors these days, so the Kia cover doesn't seem so impressive.
