DS is a premium French car brand created in 2014 and sits within the Stellantis group, alongside Peugeot,Citroen, Fiat and Vauxhall among others. Before 2014, DS was a sub-brand of Citroen and models like the Citroen DS3 premium hatchback found great success in the UK. The DS name dates back to 1955 when it was first used on the Citroen DS – a saloon car with advanced suspension and futuristic design. The modern day DS, now a separate brand from Citroen, uses the 1955 Citroen DS as its ethos and inspiration to take on German brands like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. DS has a range of petrol, plug-in hybrid and electric cars with the hybrid and electric models called E-Tense. The DS model range consists of the DS 3 Crossback and DS 7 Crossback SUVs and the DS 9 luxury saloon. DS is currently the team to beat in Formula e racing having won the championship twice.
