Using the Porsche Taycan as a basis has allowed Audi to create an electric flagship which really nibbles at the Tesla Model S's Achilles' heels.

Ginny Says

“The Taycan is one of my all time favourite cars, and the Audi is a slightly cheaper version of it. What's not to like? The most interesting part is how it carefully targets Tesla's Model S though, with fast charging, solid build quality and proper buttons to control things!”

Tom Says

“All of the Porsche Taycan goodness in an - arguably - more interesting body shape. Audi comes up trumps with its first sporty EV. Especially in ‘Tactical Green’ - which is either the best or worst colour in the world, according to preference.”

Is the Audi e-tron GT a sports car?

The Audi e-tron GT is a four-door saloon which Audi says is a Grand Tourer rather than a sports car. It's fast and capable enough to take on supercars though.

Is the Audi e-tron GT the same as a Porsche Taycan?

The Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan share most of their hardware, but have a different look inside and out. The Audi is also a little cheaper than the four-wheel-drive Porsche equivalents.

Is the Audi e-tron GT faster than a Tesla?

No. The fastest e-tron GT is the RS, which goes from 0-62 in 3.3 seconds. Teslas will do it in less.

How fast does the Audi e-tron GT charge?

With a 7kW home wallbox a full charge takes around 14 hours, while a top-up from a 50kW fast charger takes up to 100 minutes. Plug in to a 150kW charger and the charging time slashes to 30 minutes. If you find a 350kW rapid you could add 60 miles of charge in five minutes.
